I just watched for the second time this week an interview with A-Rod talking about having "gone to war" for 8 months. This player, with a bush-league attitude about the game, is being paid more money a year than a platoon of Marines, for having mastered the skills necessary to play a kids game exceptionally well. Athletes are not "warriors"! Basically, these guys are paid ridiculous amounts of money to entertain us, while the military men and women protecting our freedom are paid a barely livable wage.

I'm with you on this one. Coaches and players get carried away, and it spills over. I don't have any problem with athletes being well-paid as they are displaying a skill that people will pay to see. But sometimes they need to be a bit more careful with their language.
