Abigail is an extremely beautiful seventeen year old girl who is the niece of Reverend Parris, Abigail was the Proctors' servant before Elizabeth fired her for having an affair with John.

Height is not necessarily important though you will want her to be shorter than Reverend Parris and some of the other 'adult' roles in order to show her youth.

Abigail doesn't need to be a raving beauty, but she does need to have an enormous appeal about her. She does lure a married man from his wife. She should be intelligent - the whole witch scheme in court comes from her, she in large part sets the trials in Salem in motion according to Miller's script. Physical attributes - she should appear to be in her mid to late teens. Attractive (either in a traditional way or strikingly unusual) Her physical size should compliment John Proctor's - but in a different way than Elizabeth, his wife, does. There should be a marked physical contrast between Elizabeth Proctor and Abigail Williams.
I direct young people and I played Abigail twice when I was younger - she's a wonderful part - good luck.

abigail needs to be young girl but she is very mature very smart and has to be played by a experienced actress
