Start Rivers, and here's why:
In the San Diego Union Tribune on Tuesday, the front page article was about how LT and Coach Turner had aired some things out before Sunday's game in Denver. Tomlinson told Turner that he was utilizing the offense wrong. Turner admitted that, when he took over the team, he saw what he called "so many toys in the toybox" and got away from the basics that made the Chargers the top offensive team in the NFL in 2006.
After a couple of hiccups last year (think Martyball against Baltimore), the Chargers - and Marty Schottenheimer - realized that with all the potent offensive weapons on this team, there is one formula for success:
- Run LT, up the middle and to the left
- When the defense starts bringing more defenders to the line to stop the run, hit LT in the flat on the right side or with a screen, and hit Gates over the middle.
- When the DBs start to cheat up to clog the middle, send your wideouts deep, down the side or over the middle.
- Send in Michael Turner periodically to further break down the defense and to give LT a rest.
- Bring LT back in, step on the throttle, and score as many points as possible until the end of the game.
That's exactly what we saw against Denver, who got thoroughly embarassed in their own house 41 - 3. Look for it to continue the rest of the year. And, with the talent the Chargers have on their team, nobody is going to be able to stop it. Even if they know it's coming.

Rivers:
(I'm in the same boat.) Yeah Oakland's pass D was the bomb last year and they are probably underrated this season. But SD seems to have turned the corner and that means lots and lots of points. You have to think Rivers will rebound hardcore since Marty is gone right? More passing. Vincent Jackson, if healthy, is a serious endzone threat. Gates is having his best year to date. I just hope LT doesn't throw a TD!!!
Warner:
That being said, Arizona should light up the Panthers. I remember when everyone feared the Panthers D but this year that's not the case. Houston embarrassed them, of course they had a healthy turbo-badass stud Andre friggin Johnson playing, and Arizona needs only a healthy Fitzgerald to do the same.
The tiebreaker:
Seems things flipflop week to week in the NFL a lot, teams look for one thing they saw last week but they always see something different the next. And Rivers is coming off a monster game. So I'm benching him for Warner. But I figure whoever I bench will put up more points and I'm benching Rivers for the second week in a row.
So you should start Rivers while I get dissappointed with Warner.

Oakland's secondary is underrated and have done a good job of shutting down opposing wides. With Warner back at the helm and Boldin back from injury this week against a weak Carolina secondary, gotta roll the dice with Warner. When given enough time, Arizona's O-line is much improved and have done a great job protecting the QB, Warner still has an accurate bazooka arm which will fit perfect with Fitzgerald, Boldin and Johnson.

Kurt Warner, Rivers has been interception prone this year and Oakland has some good players in the secondary. Kurt will get more points for you.
