I am having twins and have chosen the names Derek and Eliza. Any alternate spellings of these names? Also say your favorite spelling of each one, please.
Thanks in advance!

Derek is the best spelling of Derek IMO, and so is Eliza. I would stick to both of them. Derek and Eliza would be really cute twins! But if you wanted, Eloise (one of my favorite names) is sort of a variation on Eliza. I don't like Elisa, because I think the z in Eliza makes it stronger or more decisive somehow. Also, please don't follow the crowd and give your kid some ridiculous spelling like Dearric or Elleighza or whatever. Your kids would grow up with reading problems =P

Then again, they're your kids so your decision (tho I love Derek and Eliza on their own). Congrats on the babies!

My favorites are (classic) Megan and Catherine. of direction, the unique Katherine is great besides ... I only want the softer C spelling, surprisingly in mild of the present vogue in direction of ok names (or C names replaced to Ks). additionally, many different spellings in common terms look to complicate issues. Kathryn, case in point, isn't reported the comparable as Catherine. It chops an entire syllable -- or a million/2 a syllable, counting on dialect -- off the call. Likewise, i've got heard Meagan reported MEE-gan, Megann reported meg-ANN and Meghan with the H reported. LOL Megan is nice and to-the-factor ... and particularly easily, plenty extra visually appealing than any contrived version i've got yet seen. wish that enables. ;)

Derek can also be done Dereck,Deric,Derick,Darick,Daric. Eliza as Elyza. I would suggest keeping it simple though. My sister in law taught school and said that was her biggest issue.....weird spellings that took a minute to figure out.

Darrick and Derrick are the other common spellings. I prefere Derek or Derrick. The only other spelling of Eliza that I know is Elyza and I prefer Eliza.

Those names are very nice. I absolutely wouldn't change the spelling of their names. They are fine as they are: Derek and Eliza. There are acceptable variants to Derek, though, like Derrick.

For giggles, you could go with:

Derrik
Derryc
Derric
Deryk
D'eRik
Derrikk
Dayrick
Daeryck
Daerikk
Derrekk
Dehwreck
De'Rick
Derrehk
Dehrehk

Elizah
Elyzah
Elleyezah
Leyeshah
Elyzah
Ellizah
Elleza
Ellishah
Eliesha
El-Eyezah
Lieza
Liezah
Eliesha
Elieshah
Elieshaa

See why I don't like 'alternate' spellings?
