I just got my belly checked out to listen to the heartbeats. They heard three heartbeats. I'm having triplets! What do I need to expect with a triplet pregnancy?

I gave birth to triplets 15 years ago. I did not find out I was having more than one baby until a routine ultrasound at 17 weeks. Quite a SHOCK! Unfortunately, I delivered only a few short weeks later at 25 weeks. I delivered 3 live babies (2 girls and a boy), spent months and months in the NICU with all three, and came home with all three. But sadly, I lost 2 of them due to prematurity complications within 1 month of each other.
On the bright side, my daughter is 15, and is the most sweet, loving, beautiful child ever! She is MR due to a brain bleed, but I wouldn't trade her for anything!
Other than delivering early, my pregnancy was pretty uneventful....strange enough. I wasn't very sick (in fact, I only threw up once during the entire pregnancy), I wasn't tired, and I felt WONDERFUL! Eating was pretty difficult, though, because there wasn't any room in my belly! LOL! I was HUGE even at 25 weeks! I already looked full term. You will most probably be placed on bedrest and pelvic rest pretty early in the pregnancy. Also, be prepared for a C-section. Very few doctors are comfortable allowing triplets to be born vaginally (my doc told me....."slim to none")
Listen to what the doctor tells you and TRUST YOUR OWN INSTINCTS!!! If YOU feel like something is wrong, then tell someone!

GOOD LUCK!!!!

Congrats, I have 20 month old triplets 2 girls/1boy. My pregnancy was very good and I had them at 34 wk. That is not typical at all, so I wish you the best!

Don't get too excited yet - heartbeats alone are not enough to confirm a multiple pregnancy. They will have to do an ultrasound to confirm.

Good luck, and congrats!

OMG! That's crazy. Well you could probably expect a big belly (like everyone else said), you'll probably deliver alittle earlier then you would if you were having one baby, and expect three tiny cute little babies. Goodluck picking names! Oh and you will probably expect to never have a dull moment in your household once those babies are born. Congrats!

WHEW!! Congratulations girl!!! You can expect to have your hands full, in more ways than one, that's for sure! But it'll be great!

They'll watch you like a hawk for gestational diabetes, preeclampsia, edema, and pre-term labor.

B/c you're having multiples, you're automatically considered "high risk" so they might recommend that you abstain from sex (or might not, just depends), and they might tell you to take it easy with your activity, especially in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters.

Good luck! It's scary, but exciting!

They still need to do an ultrasound to confirm.. Good Luck.. if you do have three you will likely not carry to 40 weeks.

Sorry but heartbeat alone is not 100 percent confirmation of multiples and You did not specify if it was by ultrasound or by Doppler stethoscope.

Congratulations, Congratulations, Congratulations! More than likely there won't be enough room for your babies to go full term. Other than that I guess after your Dr. confirms you better start doing some shopping!! Best wishes for you and your babies! :)
