If you want a good story about the Civil War, check out GLORY. A story about the first all black unit. This is a true story and does a great job identifying real issues during that time period. It also has amazing acting by Morgan Freeman, Denzel Washington and Matthew Broderick

The best civil war movie is definitely Glory. It is the most action packed and its awesome!

It's Gettysburg, since it supplys both action, and hardship in the civilwar days.....they showed how life was like...example: didn't have shoes to fight in the army or jackets at first....low pay, and not much to eat at times thru out the war.....it's a great movie....
