A booger is formed from dried mucus and particles it traps. They tend to be a more mammalian thing than other animals because of our breathing system and large nasal passages full of sinuses. Most mammals have nose hairs, especially if they live in a dry dusty climate or a cold one. In cold climates it keeps the nose a bit warmer and in dry climates it helps to filter dust.

The drier and dustier the area that a mammal lives in the larger the boogers tend to be.

Animals DO get bogies and its not pretty but it is a basic body secretion in humans and animals.

Its like breathing (lungs expanding and contracting) - nothing different to humans.

Horses have nasal hairs, I know, but I have not looked up anything elses, nose, lol.

Animals do have boogers- though with their noise conformation, it is usually just the runny kind- very watery. If the animal is very sick, they can have thick yellow/green boogers as well.

many animals for nasal hairs. Boggies are mucus and foreign particles (dirt or pollen) that the body is trying to get out. It gets caught on the hairs and can dry out. Than a bogger is formed.

Here is a real life animal example.

Have you ever seen a cow with her nose dripping them? That is usually accompanied by her poking her long tongue up into her nose to lick them out.
