Buried Alive???!!?

Question

One of my worst fears in life is dying. Another worst fear is being buried alive.

However I want to ask. Can you be buried alive?

Please don't answer this question saying i'm stupid or anything i really want to know and curious.

According to my old sociology teacher, back in the victorian times, the often rich people would be buried with bells, so if they were alive, they could just ring the bells..

Can you imagine walking through a graveyard and hearing a bell going? I would probably die of shock.

There are two answers. Yes, you could be buried alive. No. You won't survive a traditional burial. The depth of burial influences the weight on the body. A person can be crushed to death if buried deep enough quickly enough. Further, there are some accidents in grain elevators in which a worker gets buried alive in the grain. It is unlikely to happen. You shouldn't fear it, but your fear is normal. It's as common and feared as burning to death. People will commit suicide to keep from being burned to death. There are many reports of people knowingly jumping out windows to their death to keep from being burned to death. It is so feared that parents have been known to kill their children before killing themselves to escape being burned to death.
Don't worry about it. It's a normal fear. Just don't let it control your life.

yes u can be burried alive, however someone needs to put u in a hole and cover u with dirt. if u dont have any evil enemies that are willing to commit murder than i wouldnt worry about it at all. u cant be afraid of death becuz its part of life. just take each day as it comes dont think so far ahead. if ur really really scared about dying u should see a therapist to help u deal with it a little better. u could hav some kind of panic or anxiety disorder.

well lets say it is posslibe


if buried under large piles of Dirt, u would only last for maybe a few minutes. casue u would run out of oxygen and instead of air that u would breath in, itd be dirt. This would only be possible if u were buried in a pit.
