What agency did you read for and what state are you in? How did you find this agency? Do you already have training and a good resume of roles that you've performed? Reading a commercial is not the standard fare for auditioning for an agent, did you also read a scene and a monologue?

If you answer no to the last 2 questions this may be a scam, not a real agency. If your answer to the 2nd question is they found you in a mall or you answered an ad then it's definitely a scam. Look the company up on ripoffreport.com and bbb.org to see if others have complained about them.

These scam companies often lead young actors to believe that they are agents when really they are just selling overpriced and worthless classes. If this is what you walked into, RUN away!

If your audition was for a legit agent then they should be listed with SAG.org, http://www.agentassociation.com/, RossReports.com, or some legit listing of agents. If they're not listed with one of those 3, I'd worry. Especially if you live in an area where lots of filming goes on.

To get a legit agent, look at the sources I gave you. Send them an 8x10 headshot and your resume. if you don't have a resume then you're not ready for an agent. You need training (acting, dance & voice lessons) and you need to get into theatrical productions. Audition at local theatres and once you have some roles under your belt, try going for student and indie films. You can find those auditions on backstage.com and actorsaccess.com, but if you don't live in a major film area try doing a websearch for your state name and the word film. That will help you find your state's film alliances, commissions, etc. Those sites have info on projects filming in your state as well as classes and auditions for locals.

If you're under age make sure your parents are completely supportive of what you're doing.

good luck

You just have to think "did i put as much effort into it as i could?" "was i truly dedicated to it?" If one of these answers are no then you probably wont get the part. And if thats the case you just have to learn from it and keep on trying. Trust me I KNOW its not as easy as it sounds, and it seems like forever until you find out if u got it or not. But normally you dont appear as you may have thought. Most of the time people have worries at the end of an audition but you dont know how well you did until you find out if u got the part so dont worry so much. Its over and you did what you can do. I know you are probably thinking its simple advise but Ive learned its the only advice that actually works.
GOOD LUCK! And I hope to see you in the comercial!

Devon, with auditions, you got to learn to let go. You'll have a lot of them and some will be very good, some very terrible. Always give it your best shot every time and then LET GO OF IT. It's a learning process from the school of hard knocks. Learn from it and hone your skills. Persistence is key. I wish you the very best of luck, friend.

two things to worry about, if they call you back and say you are terrific, but you need these lessons, the place is a scam

second thing, you suck. Obviously you have no training nor experience. Those are the things you need before you go to an audition.

If you've proved that normally you're good, maybe... but most likely not.... try better next time, and sorry
