I am a staff writer for my school newspaper, which is a self-funded organization. After reading the Constitution, I read that we have a “freedom of the press.” My question was whether this Constitutional right applies for my school’s paper or not?

Yes and no. The paper is the property of the school. The school can decide what is and is not included in the paper. This is much the same as a regular newspaper. A regular newspaper and it's reporters are protected by the first amendment, however the owners of the newspaper can decide to not print an article submitted by a reporter. This does not violate anyone's rights.
