Hi Sweetie,
Each period u have maybe different & especially since this is r introduction 2 womanhood, it'll take a while before u can actually calenderise it to the day, although u should still do be doing it. The heavy stages r usually the middle of r period, lite at 1st gradually getting heavier. If u r having leaks & wearing a sanitary napking, u need a Heavy Flow with wings, at nite double up & buy a hospital bottom 4 r sheets at nite from the pharmacy, (padded on 1 side & vynal on the other). I have 2. This'll help prevent accidents on sheets. U can't underestimate what r period will be like, but know when it coming ex: bloating, feeling under the weather, cramps, headaches, etc.
Perhaps u should invest in some lite-days 2 save on panties & wear em ea. day & a couple diff kinds of pads, as r period won't always be like this. Midol is the #1 med 4 periods takes care of all that ails u. Soon u can start wearing tampons, which'll make u feel more confidant, but still may need a pad to be r guide when tampon is full. Hang in there Sweetie, it will get better in time.
I hope this has helped u to some degree & understanding?
LOL, Diana D

HEy, It may have something to do with the size of pad (tampon) your ussing. or if you periods really heavy???
Anyways if it leaks through a light days pad, pantyliner. Then try a regular pad (tampon) if it leask through that i would try a super tampon or pad! Do you use pads with wings?? They help alot with the leakage and keep the pad in place. However if you leaking through a pad made for really heavy periods in less than 2 hours thats not right. Also if you use tampons you can use a regular and a pad aswell. if anyone tells you to use two tampons at once there's something wrong with them. Also you can also try putting to pads on one on top of the other. Or just by the extra long Always pads that keep you dry there my favourites when i don't have tampons around ... Also if you use tampons i suggest that you don't use super tampons because there not all that healthy for you adn soak up alot of blood and have a higher risk of giving you TSS!
Hope this helps e-mail if you have any other questions

Especially when you first start having your period, things can be different from period to period. After a couple of years or so it usually starts to even out. If you think that things are not normal, you can ask your parents to help you see a gynecologist.

i know its really gross and is pretty scarry sometimes but it happens to most of the girs that are just beginning!
although you might need to talk to someone if you are seeing blood clots!
just hang on there you are going to be ok!
just make sure you are prepared for a possible accident and avoid embarrasing leaks through clothing!

That's normal, for a while it might be really heavy and then really light. Your body is just trying to regulate itself.
