Sorry, I don't have caller ID on the phone that is closest to me most of the time.
Over 18 years of my military career I spent on telephone recall status. I hated being called to work at all hours of the day and night. When I retired I tried an experiment. I didn't answer the phone. After a bit it would quit ringing. I repeated if frequently until I came to the conclusion that if I ignored it long enough it would quit ringing. I now ignore it totally. I pay a phone bill so I can call someone, not so every salesman in the country can call me.

yes because my relative live in a foreign country and sometimes it shows unavailable. If I don't answer those "unavailable" phone calls, I'm afraid I would miss their calls. I have some friends who block their numbers, so apparently I think I should answer them all., even though sometimes I got telemarketers on the other end instead. :-(

I don't have caller ID, but there are times that I don't answer and I figure that if it is someone important they will either call back or leave me a message.

Only if I am expecting a call from someone that I know does not have their number show on caller ID. Some hospitals show only "Out of Area", and I do have family in law enforcement whose numbers show up, "Private". As a result I go ahead and answer those.
If it turns out to be a telemarketer I am careful to use the exact phrase, "I am not interested, please remove my number from your calling list." By law this requires them to do so and if they call again you can report them.
This has worked well for me. Good luck

My business line, yes. Home and cell phone, no. For a long time I had anonymous call rejection on the home phone, and it never rang. But when AT&T took over the local phone company we lost that ability.

Yes. I just don't answer if caller id shows it's my mother-in-law.
I'm serious.
