This happened on Monday Night Football a few years ago, where a receiver and a DB both caught the ball at the same time. Both players had both hands around the ball. They were rolling on the ground, completely deadlocked.
Other team members piled on to try to jar the ball loose. The referees finally blew their whistles to stop the play. After everyone was pulled off the pile, all that was left were the exhausted receiver and the DB, both still clutching the ball with both hands.
The referees ruled that the receiver gets the ball. The logic was that the offense had possession of the ball and the defense did not clearly take possession away from the offense. So, no turnover could be awarded to the defense.

the ref can blow the play dead after awhile. If this happens, whoever had the most control of the ball when the ref blows it dead gets the ball. THe ball will be spotted at that point, either for the defense or offense.

Doesn't matter until the play is called dead...once the play is called dead who ever had posession is the owner of the ball. As long as the defender is playing the ball and not the wide out no interference will be called

it really doesnt matter. when the ref calls the ball dead and who every has it in their hands gets the ball. so if they both jump up and catch it. and 1 of them strip it from the othe persons hand. and the ref callas the play dead. den the ball is his, cuz he has it in his hands.
