I just had my hernia repaired, is there any negative impact that might occure later?

This is something that you really need to discuss with your doctor. I'm surprised that he/she didn't discuss this with you after the operation. Everyone is different.

well post operatively if you don't drink enough water and walk daily, you will get constipated. And that area that was repaired will indeed be a weak area from now on, you must minimize your lifting.
