when i was in school they just beat the snot out of each other with their fists. until we know why he'd gotten in the "fight" we won't even be able to comprehend why. i think it's sad that children don't understand what's real and what's fake. that murder is wrong - period. that is it not the decision of another who should live or die. i do believe kids need to toughen up to reality/ many are given everything they want and not taught that - life isn't always about taking the easy road - you don't always get what you want. gracious even God sometimes tells people no or not just now!!

"Have 90's kids been raised so politically-correct ..."
Maybe public schools are to blame?
Emotions need to be exercised or they will atrophy. You can’t help but think a few generations of so much public school “self-esteem” emphasis haven’t prepared our kids very well for the real world. Rather than focus on accomplishments we’ve evolved into a society that says “you’re great as you are (without having accomplished anything)” and “you’re worthy of respect (without having earned it).” So what happens the first time someone is rebuffed or called “worthless” or a “loser?” Do they say “sticks and stones?” No, because they’re unequipped to cope. They don’t know quite how to respond. Some implode, sinking into an emotional funk. Some, like Tyler Peterson in Wisconsin -- or Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold in Colorado, or any number of products of a “feel good” society -- react destructively.

Kids need to learn that life is tough. It's not all fun and games and you're gonna have to deal with it. Get over it. Move on.
Another thing I have to say - fight like a man. With your fists. Guns are for pansies, way too easy to win against people without guns. Don't be a wimp, if you can't win a fist fight you need to learn how. Guns are just the easy way out and they will end up hurting yourself as well.

Political correctness is indeed an issue. Another issue is lack of dicipline. Everyone is so afraid of getting sued, that diciplinary action is not taken when needed. Faith in higher powers is also not allowed, so the "life on the street" way of thinking takes over.
one thing is for sure, this is more common now than ever. If it doesnt stop, it will only get worse.

This kind of behavior was predicted by the social scientists of the 1950's and 1960's, but their warnings are still being ignored.
It is the same behavior that they observed in experiments with mice caused by overpopulation. They also predicted the increase in various other behaviors caused by overpopulation.

When I first saw this question, I was reading too fast--and I am tired. This is what I thought it said:
"WTF is with these kids shooting UP in school?"
That's what happens when I am tired.

No. It's called justice.
LOL!
The posters below me are spouting total BALONEY. Take the one immediately below me, for example. If it is alright to "beat the snot out of each other with fists", why not shoot each other with guns? You think it is okay to attack someone's dignity with fists but not with guns? You don't think anyone has the right to decide who lives or dies? Yet, in reality such decisions are made every day around the world, in every community, every city, every country, every battlefield. When the bureaucratic justice system fails, it is time to settle scores in one's own way.
