i know how to do this hold on!

ok i am great at math ok
first you can start where ever you want
the point is to get x alone
so what i did is subtract 7.36 from 18 so then i got
10.64-3.8x= -1.9x
so then to get rid of the x i added 3.8x to -1.9x and got
10.64x=1.9x

so then to get x alone you divide each side by 1.9x
so then you get 5.6

its very simple just do what you want and just make sure you just get x alone
hoped i helped

18 - 3.8x = 7.36 - 1.9x

Alright, for starters, you want to get all of your "x"'s on one side and all of your numbers on the other.

so I'd start by adding 3.8x to both sides.

18 - 3.8x + 3.8x = 7.36 - 1.9x + 3.8x

Combine the x's on both sides, and the x's on the left side will cancel out. The right side will simply reduce the amount of x's (-1.9x + 3.8x = +1.9x)

18 = 7.36 + 1.9x

Now subtract 7.36 from both sides so you can get the numbers on one side.

18 - 7.36 = 7.36 - 7.36 + 1.9x

And that will clean up to:

10.64 = 1.9x

Now divide both sides by 1.9

10.64 / 1.9 = 1.9x / 1.9

5.6 = x

Use that method that I just gave up there to do all these problems.

I'll reiterate:

First, get all the x's on one side.

Then get all the numbers on the other side.

Then divide both sides by the number in front of the x, and you should be left with x = a number

18 - 3.8x = 7.36 - 1.9x

Now, first thing is to put all the numbers together, and all the x's together.

If you change the side, change the sign. If 2+3 = 5, then 2 = 5-3 <- Change the side, change the sign.

18 - 7.36 = -1.9x + 3.8x

Add them together...

10.64 = 1.9x

Now, we divide by 1.9 because we want x to be by itself. BUT, if you divide one side by a number, we have to divide the other side; ie,

(6 * 4 = 24 is equal to .5 * 6 * 4 = .5 * 24)

(10.64 / 1.9) = (1.9x / 1.9)

Which is equal to

5.6 = x

Hope that helps ;)

well,

18-3.8x=7.36-1.9x

or,18 - 7.36 = 3.8x - 1.9x

(Rule: signs are changed as they change the
sides horizontally <->, 7.36 becomes -7.36 and
- 3.8x changes to 3.8x, example: Rule: if, a+b=c-d
then a+d=c-b too, "+" becomes "-"; "*" becomes "/")

or, 3.8x - 1.9x = 18 - 7.36

(Eg. Rule: if, a+b=c+d then c+d=a+b too)

or, 1.9*x = 10.64 [So that, (3.8x - 1.9x) = 1.9*x]

(deduction results, 2a=b means 2*a=b)

or, x = 10.64/1.9

(if a*b=c then b=c/b)

or, x=5.6 (Ans)
-------------------------------------------------------

Q. 18-3.8x=7.36-1.9x then x=?

This Step is not Necessary -> or,18 - 7.36 = 3.8x - 1.9x , one can perform the next step directly

or, 3.8x - 1.9x = 18 - 7.36
or, 1.9*x = 10.64
or, x = 10.64/1.9
or, x=5.6 (Ans)

18-3.8x = 7.36-1.9x

18-7.36 = 3.8x - 1.9x

10.64 = 1.9x

x = 10.64/1.9

x = 5.6

combine like terms

18-3.8x +(3.8x)=7.36-1.9x+(3.8x)
18=7.36+1.9x
18-(7.36)=7.36-(7.36) + 1.9x
10.64=1.9x
10.64/1.9=1.9x/1.9
x=5.6
