Hey, I am thinking about going to Dublin for 6 weeks (roughly mid-December to the end of January). Do you think I would be able to find a short-term gig?

If you're not an Irish citizen you'd need a work permit but other than that you probably wouldn't have any trouble - especially working in the retail industry during the holidays.

well you would need a work permit if you want to do it legally, where are you from? if your from the UK or somewhere like that then you might get away with not having one, to be honest i don't think employers even ask if non nationals have them! they are supposed to but they don't bother!

well seen as your coming around Christmas, there should be loads of jobs, nothing major, mostly in shops, stacking shelves and stuff like that!
if you try get a job in a pub (bar) you will earn a lot of money in tips, we are generous tippers, especially when we are drunk and we get REALLY drunk around Christmas so we tip even more!!!ha ha!!

good luck!

Throw your cv up on

www.monster.ie

www.jobs.ie

www.irishjobs.ie

recruiters there are always looking for temps. Other than that, I'd say just get a job somewhere and don't tell them you will be leaving
