None of the above as far as I know. Totems began in Alaska, then spread down the west coast to Washington an maybe Oregon areas. Probably no one knows when they began carving these. Most people think that they have religious symbolism, but that could be doubtful, at least in the last 200 years, or so. I'm not an expert, however, so research on line and see what you can find. Good luck.

I live in Washington and either they took 'em all down, or they were never that numerous here.

None around here, at least not lately.
