Well, this question is a little off. You see plenty of footballers throughout the world who are of Asian Decent. Many in the Premiership, and other leagues as well.

Now, if your question is actually meant to be, "Why aren't there as many Asian footballers as there are Mexican, or other 'minority footballers'?" Then, I would say, many of the talented footballers from Asia play in the Asian leagues. Also, it still breaks down to business. At this point, it's safe to say that people of Asian decent as a whole are a bit behind other races in Football development. But they are coming along quite nicely, with many talented young players!

So, you will soon see many more players out of Asia. Until then, enjoy the guys you have out there.

Actually, Korea did really well in the world cup a few years ago.

China, Japan, and Korea all are really interested in the world of bboying. Bboying is a national sport in Korea.

And the person above me is right. We aren't called "Orientals".

Because Orientals are usually rugs or vases or other inanimate objects, and one must be human to play sports. If you mean why aren't there Asians in pro football, then it's probably because football is not as popular in their culture as it is in others. Or is this answer too much like "racial talk" for you?

there is PLENTY of oriental players in soccer/football actually! lol

Lee Dong-G00k (Middlesbrough/South Korea)
Park Ji-Sung (Man Utd/South Korea)
Lee Young-Pyo (Tottenham/South Korea)
Sensuke Nakamura (Celtic/Japan)
Hidetoshi Nakata (Retired/Japan)
Dong Fangzhou (Man Utd/China)
Sun Jihai (Man City/China)

that's just a few i can think off the top of my head ^^

if you research many clubs around Europe you'd find there's loads of oriental players playing in many top quality divisions in actual fact.

South Korea made it to the semi finals of the World Cup in 2002 defeating one of the greatest footballing nations Italy in the quarter-finals to get there!

also Japan are argueably the best footballing nations in the whole of Asia winning the Asia Cup on more than one occasion.

because they are to small and would be seriously hurt. That is the truth and has nothing to do with race we don't see any 5'4" 120 lbs black white or any other race playing football either
