Nope, the NAU is underway, alive and well.

Here's the link to that interview:

When I first heard about the NAU, I figured it was a pipe dream, envisioned by people who could not understand the depth of outrage that would meet any attempts to cede any part of U.S. sovereignty.

However, the U.S. populace will slowly and carefully be spoon-fed small doses of information about how an economic union between the Americas could rival the EU in Europe. Then the drive to push it on the American people will intensify as the program is touted as the only way to ensure America's competitiveness in the global economy. They will cite that the U.S. dollar cannot compete with the euro.

I live in Europe now, and the one thing I can tell you with certainty is that the EU is radically changing the face of Europe. Each year, all the EU member countries become a little bit more alike. At some point, (and relative to how they were before the EU) they will be virtual clones of each other, with only token national differences.

Once a push for a One-America Union starts, it will become unstoppable. One reason: the property values will skyrocket almost everywhere. I now live in the Czech Republic (Prague), and once it joins the EU, property values will shoot up at least 25%. That is a huge incentive for people to support a plan like this.

Additionally, you can charge a lot more for your goods. Here, a bottle of soda costs more than in the U.S. Shoes are ridiculously expensive. Rent is astronomical. The only way these prices can be sustained is because of the economic model created by the EU.
