YES!!!!!!!!! GOODNESS ME!
I finished my A levels and therefore school this year. Our school in particular was something out of these American teenage dramas like the silly "O.C". People would arrive as though they were getting ready to strut their stuff at a fashion show, and that includes the guys! IT'S TRUE!
Our age group as we were 17 and 18 had cars. EXPENSIVE CARS! WE would compete to have the best cars! Mercs, Audi and someone even had a Porche! We had better cars than the teachers! "Lunches" would be spent at expensive coffee shops where the girls would only have bottled water for the whole day and they guys would show off their generosity by paying for all their friends!
It was an expensive business and totally defeated the object of going to school! The prom was ridiculous!!!!!!! SOME GIRLS spent up to £1000 on their damn dresses! More than some people's wedding dresses!
The thing is that this wasn't even the way Americans lived their lives. It was the way the producers and directors enticed teenagers into watching such "glamour".
Oh and we seem to be following in the American footsteps too when it comes to or ever growing waiste sizes!
Oh and we followed them into war!

yeah that's right, America is blamed for all the world's ills. Don't like Mickey D's? Dont eat there. Don't like the music? Change the channel. Don't watch the movies. Boycott Disney.
The world loves to bash the U.S. but why do so many want to come here?
I am not denying the U.S. sometimes makes mistakes, but good God, people, Stalin, Mao, Castro, Pol Pot, Kim in Korea, Saddam, Hitler, Mussolini, starved, tortured, killed, imprisoned millions, yet people whine because a Mcdonalds opens in another country.

Pokemon is Japanese, harry potter is English, soccer is just awful...America just boosts everyone elses voice and it just gets passed off as American. I'm not American, but really, think about it....They have the power of Rome and the big crisis is people are whining about their fast food.
I do agree with you though about the loss of culture. But what is there to be done?

What subculture are you talking approximately? mmm I nevertheless don't get your question because of the fact Islam is a faith and not a subculture. i don't possibly like something related to the yank subculture so no it is not a sturdy impression on the Muslims yet each subculture has some thing sturdy and a few thing undesirable approximately it. walaykum salam
