In 1915 the young Turks in power ordered the annihilation of all Christens in the Ottoman empire WHY? because they demanded equal rights from their Muslim rulers.

In 1923 Europe with Turkey signed a treaty that recognized the acts of Turkey as criminal and would force them to make restitution to Armenians and Greeks.

Their was one favorable item in the treaty for Turkey, it gave Turkey the right to punish the leaders who were guilty of the genocide in their homeland.

Well unfortunately that was the only part of the agreement Turkey obeyed.

Turkey never punished those perpetrators accurately. They never documented the trials, and allowed most of the guilty to flee.

Hitler cashed in on that by using it at as and example to get his armies to kill the Jews by pointing out how easy it was to get away with a genocide.
