It's the age old question of "are you a fan of the team or a fan of the player?" The "team" wins this one most of the time so let's see the answers you get. I don't think too many fans switched teams when Damon and Clemens went to the Yankees.

There is no way I would ever cheer for the Red Sox. I would hope ARod does well, but not against the Yankees and not well enough to get them into the playoffs.

If ARod goes to Boston, it won't make me a Red Sox fan. I will still LOVE the Yankees. It will make him the most hated player in baseball. It'll be worse than Giambi going back to Oakland or when ARod went back to Seattle the first time.

I am a Yankee fan, but still root for certain players no matter what team they are one. Actually, when I was younger, Clemens was my favorite pitcher even though he was on the hated Red Sox. I will continue to root for Arod no matter what team he is on.

I bleed pinstripes. If Alex goes to another team I would be unhappy but would follow his assault on the HR Record which is his in ten or less years. He's been unfairly treated by the NY fans and certainly his postseason stats don't help. I like him always have and I will follow his future.

please say it ain't so.... While I respect A-Rod's talent & he may be one of the greatest hitters ever I don't want him in Boston & it will take a LONG LONG time for me to warm up to him. He is a cheat (the 'I've got it' or watever he yelled running from 2nd to 3rd this year, the slapped glove in the '04 series) and he does not perform well in clutch situations. That being said I love my BoSox too much to stop watching and will remain a fan. I was a HUGE Damon fan and he is probably the most hated person now in Boston sports. A shame.....

and to Steinbrenner.. PLEASE keep Torre. The guy is one of the classiest in baseball.

I like Alex Rodriguez. He's one of those greats who are icons of their eras. I don't care what team he plays on, I will be his fan.

And if he doesn't play for my team, I will still be my team's fan, too. Baseball is like that. There a millionty angles.
