being embarrassed is like, one of my fears,
odd i know.
anyways in gym we're playing baseball. and we have to keep swinging until you hit the ball.
well, i was up there for like ever cause i just couldn't hit it!
i think i must've jinxed myself, because the times before it i hit it on the first try, and i even got a homerun.
so i was telling my friend how surprised i was at how well i was doing and BAM i just couldn't hit it yesterday, and the same thing happened today.
and it's VERY embarrassing.
what's a way to keep my nerves down, or improve?
i can't practice anywhere, and i don't have very good hand-eye cordination.
it also seems like i'm the only person in the school that this is happening to.
also, not critism. i just need a way to keep my nerves down, or try to improve. thanks (:

You have to embrace the moment. All you should care about up there is, "How much fun it will be to hit the ball." You'll still get the adrenaline rush, but instead of it feeling like you just got scared, it will feel like you just scared someone else.

Sounds like you have a mental block on hitting the ball. You think you can't hit it, and when you don't it just gets worse. One thing to try is have someone at home, without anyone around sit beside you and toss some balls in front of you while you try to hit them. The main thing to remember is keep your eye on the ball. If you are watching the ball more than likely you are going to swing where you are looking. Maybe someone else has a better idea....??

Yoga breathing -- really easy. Breathe in through the nose, deeply; hold it for a heartbeat; exhale slowly through the mouth, lips slightly parted. Repeat 8-10 times. It forces you to concentrate on your breathing and lets you ignore other things.

And keep your eye on the ball. I know it sounds clichéd, but it really is important. And keep your wrists tight.
