I was on Loestrin24fe for 4 months. First 2 months, very light period, maybe lasting a day. Last 2 months of taking it, I had no period at all. I called the doc they said it's normal. I had cramping, bloating, all the symptoms...but no period. Took 3 pregnancy tests weeks apart and all negative. I told them I wanted to switch bc's because I don't wanna be scared every month. So, this past month I've been on Ortho Tri Cyclen. I still have not had a period and have had major pains in my lower abdomen on the right side. I have taken 2 more pregnancy tests in the past month and both were negative. Anyone experienced this problem? I don't know if I'm pregnant and the tests aren't showing or what. I'm not stressed and I haven't been doing anything out of the norm. Anyone have any comments/suggestion. Any one taken 5 tests that came back negative but were still pregnant??

The problem is you are messing with your body by instituting an artificial hormone regimen, and your body doesn't LIKE it. It could be really messing you up inside.

I'm shocked that your dr. has let this continue. Are you going to a clinic or something where you don't have your very own dr. looking after you? You need somebody much, MUCH more competent.

My advice is to STOP taking these pills and find yourself a better physician.

Sometimes when switching BC's it can take a while for your body to adjust to the new BC and get it's cycle back on course. Chances are if you were and still are using your BC correctly that you aren't pregnant. Give the new BC another month to regulate your system and if you still do not have your period I would go to your OBGYN and have the Dr to give you a blood test to be certain you aren't pregnant. There are other conditions that can cause the lack of a period. You may wish to discuss this with your doctor as well to be on the safe side. Good Luck.

Before switching your bc you should've waited until your period came down (the doc should have told you that). Stop taking the bc and wait about 7 days and see if it comes down. If not, go and have a clinic do a blood test for pregnancy. I had tried 7 different home tests and they all showed up negative until I got a blood test which showed positive!
Skipping your period does not cause concern to worry if you're not sexually active but obviously you are so see a MD!

I had those same symptoms when i had a cyst on my ovary yes it went away by itself but the three months it was there the symptoms where the same as what you are explaining i think i would go get those new tests that test for bacteria in your pee to see if maybe ovarian cysts. Don't freak out they usually come and go for everyone its just some of is notice them more and they hurt more for others. Good Luck and God Bless
