I'm 19 years old and am ready to move out of my parents house. I do have a job, and make enough money to rent a resonable apartment. What I'm worried about it the fact that as far as I know I have no credit. I've never had a credit card and things like that. I've heard that haveing no credit is about as bad as haveing bad credit so I'm worried I might not beable to rent an apartment. So my question would be... What exactly do I need to rent my first apartment?

I would say at least two month's worth of rent plus a security deposit.

The whole credit thing is more about buying a house than renting an apartment.

Landlords usually want 1st & Last months rent + security deposit.

Just put youself in the landlords shoes. If your income was dependant on a tenant, what would you want that tenant to be like?

Got it? They want to know you will reliably pay the rent and not be so unplesant as to drive away other paying tenants.

So if your monthly income is at least 2x the rent & you do not have a habit of switching jobs every 6 month. & you avoid being or portraying youself as some kind of anti-establishment drug useing Bohiemian (see 'Rent' the movie fo examples) you should be fine.

It depends on the place you are looking to rent from and where you are located. Many places cater to people in your situation, however, and often times they take into account other factors besides credit rating. Often, they will ask to see your last two pay stubs from your job and perhaps your last couple bank statements. Basically, they just want to be sure that you make enough money to cover your expenses, and still pay them their rent.

A co-signer. Someone has to love and trust you a ton to do that because if you default, they pay. Good luck.
