You could be referring to Core2 Duo E6300 or E6320. It may have a lower clock speed but it performs better and beats the old tech Pentium D945 or D950 (3.4ghz). In benchmarks below, E6300 (at 65W) easily beats Pentium D960 (3.6ghz/95W).

Dual 2 Core? I assume you mean Core 2 Duo and that would be close to as fast as the 3.4Ghz P4. The Core 2 Duo would be a much better buy considering it would run much cooler and draw far less power.

Core 2 duo is uber l33t.

The Dual Core 3.4ghz would make a nice paper weight though.

get the core two duo. if your a gamer, having the ability to link up a couple of high powered graphics cards to a very cool running CPU is very good, and it wont require as big a fan and power source.
