Personally, I like my vinyl albums! I know, CDs are smaller, more durable and have better sound quality, but I like the nostalgia of the LPs.
When I moved, the only thing my fiance dropped was my stereo, and broke the turntable cover. It was in perfect condition. Naturally, he couldn't break something easy to replace!
If you really must transfer your tunes, it first depends on what kind of set-up you have. If you have a CD burner connected to your turntable, it'll be easy. Or you may have to transfer them to cassette first. There are places in most larger towns and cities who will perform this service, just look in your yellow pages under music. I have no idea what this would cost, you'll just have to call and ask.
Hope this helps some, good luck!
