I think they are in a race with Michigan state government to see who can cause a total collapse. UAW demands more and more. The state takes more and more in taxes.

Chrysler should hire who they want and pay employees what they want to pay. That is the only system that works in the long run.

The UAW is responsible for the K-Mart mess? 1,000's of investors lost their shirts when K-Mart declared bankruptcy, and then once their obligations were discarded, they suddenly found an extra $11 billion to buy up Sears? Bad ol' UAW management at K-Mart!!!

Oh, wait, you must mean the UAW politicians like Gov . Granholm, or Sen. Carl Levin who for the last 30 years has watched business continue to stream out of Michigan. Bad ol' union people masquerading as politicians!

No, no, NOW I got it. You must mean those UAW managers at Delphi that want to cut wages for all the workers while giving themselves bonuses for sticking around to screw up the company even more?

i get confused here. cons say Michigans problems are a result of the UAW,but their economy is not based on the auto industry. either way those workers are insane to strike. you people need to recall your governor
