Is it part of their radical plan to socialize America, turn young boys who display masculinity into girls, and to create a society of "non- enlightened" people?

If Thomas Edison, Albert Enstein, or Mark Twain were doped up with Ritalin, they wouldn't have become the aswesome people that they were.

I read the article. There is absolutely NOTHING in that article a supports the conclusion .that "it is mainly the liberals that want to drug our kids with Ritalin". No it's not some great liberal conspiracy. Liberals are not mentioned in the article at all.

The lead paragraph states: "The diagnosis of bipolar disorder in children and adolescents has risen 40-fold since 1994, according to a new study. But researchers partly attribute the dramatic rise to doctors over-diagnosing the serious psychiatric disorder"

You can spread the blame for overprescribing those drugs on the drug companies, doctors, parents and school administrators none of those groups are exclusively liberal.

Did you even read the article or just peg the problem on liberals because it was printed in the San Francisco paper?

FYI, many of the Con parents I know have little issue with putting kids on this drug.

It is without a doubt one of the most ABUSED, and over-prescribed drugs in history.

Know this ~ that this decision is arrived at by three people: the parent, the teacher and the doctor.

BOTTOM LINE: a doctor has to write the prescription, so how the HELL do you get to just blaming libs for all this, eh?

I read your article and no where in the article did it mention liberals or even politics. Which begs the question - are blaming this on liberals solely because it's a San Francisco publication? If so, then you sir are truly an idiot if that's all you need to justify a blanket statement about a group of people.

Under the Liberal plan of Political Correctness , parents cannot spank their children anymore , and when the child grows up without any correction he / she has no sense of responsibility. Liberals` say you can`t spank your own child , but when the child gets older and starts being a menace to society , the Liberals fault the parents . Ritalin is just a babysitter for The State , and it allows the Liberals to feel good about themselves , as under the influence of a drug , the child can be controlled with no effort by anyone ! They become the clones of Political Correctness , with dependency upon the doctors` to administer the sufficient amount of Ritalin to " correct & control " the child.

I'm braced in my comfortable computer chair, preparing myself for all the Thumbs Down I'm about to get.

When I was young, we belonged to a nice swim club. We lived in a Conservative community. During the summer, mothers would bring their children to swim class early in the morning, and normally stayed the whole day with their children. In the evening, fathers would stop by the club after work.

Then, the club got sold to the Park District. The people who then frequented the club were mainly Liberals. What a difference. Most of the Liberal parents didn't watch after their children. They just ran wild. Most of the time, the Liberal parents would just drop their kids at the club, like they were dumping off the trash.

The club ended up turning our formerly beautiful pool into a commentary on the decline of modern parenting: they made the whole thing one shallow, uniform depth so they wouldn't have to be too concerned about anyone drowning.

These are the types of parents that can't be bothered with their kids, so they give them Ritalin. These parents just want a no-trouble child. They don't care if occasional aggressiveness, irritability, or mood swings are a natural part of growing up. They just can't be bothered. Just fill up the deep end and let them all wade in big-brother safety.

Many Liberals share the '60s-esque, Summer of Love mentality. They want "free love", but in this case, that means love without effort.

Ritalin may be overused sometimes. Any drug can be. But it's a legitimate drug that helps many people, children included. It has no political side. That's just silly.

the tutorial gadget would not drug the youngsters, the mothers and fathers do. the tutorial gadget does no longer brainwash them into wondering there is not any God. Evolution is taught because there is extra clinical foundation than Creationism, and evolution motives human beings to imagine, creationism motives human beings to quit wondering and easily settle for. i visit trust you, besides the undeniable fact that, that attributable to George W. We're more aware of mental illness in today's society and there is a significant trend away from medicating children. The over mediciation trend has more to due with the market driven health care industry than 'liberals'.

It's the pharmaceutical corporations that push drugs, not political parties. Of course, the republican party is the main supporter of corporations over the health of the people, but you can take that as you will.
