he is nowhere near the calibre of a Brodeur or Hasek......he wins games but chokes in the end, just like Snottawa....he probably doesnt even know what the stanley cup is......so why do you like a goalie that just cant get the job done.....oh whats that Vacouver? You lost in the playoffs again? Look no further than mr funnel himself, Luongo, the goalie with the dumbest name.

Hey craig, how many playoff rounds has Luongo won for the Canucks? Well im waiting...........
lol
Yet Brodeur in 2-3 years if he keeps healthy will have most of the goaltending records Roy holds today.....and he has won how many cups? How many has Vancouver won?...........whats that, 0?
LOL
weak arguement about Brodeur at the world cups, i dont even think the team helped him out at all did they...
Luongo will never win a Stanley Cup.

Obviously this guy is a leafs fan.
You can only dream about getting goalie of Luongo's calibre.
Of course Luongo's probably wouldn't look forward to it as he would be back in a shooting gallery like he was in Florida with those pylons you have on defence. McCabe, Kaberle what a joke.

okay, this is where people annoy me with their ignorance. New Jersey is a far better team than Vancouver or Florida were. Look at Vancouver's offense last year...they had none. Luongo carried that team. He single-handedly beat Dallas. I personally think Brodeur is overrated. He's not even close to the best goalie ever. He just got lucky to be drafted by a team that only gives up 18 shots a game. If Roy or Hasek were on a team like that, they'd have twice as many cups and twice as many shutouts. Of all the goalies in the league i'd pick Luongo then maybe Lundqvist, Miller, or Hasek (and that's saying a lot because I hate Hasek). When has Brodeur ever beaten Roy or Hasek? Exactly. The Save% speaks for itself. Wins aren't everything. If Roy or Hasek were to play as long as Brodeur then they'd easily have that wins record that Brodeur WILL break unless NJ starts giving up shots because whenever the Devils flop, Brodeur is the reason...just look it up.

I would consider Luongo one of the top five goalies in the game without a doubt. And Brodeur is getting mre records because of the shootout. Goalies have more opportunities to win when the game can't end in a tie.

That being said I'm still upset the Islanders traded him. I can only imagine if we had Luongo and Dany Heatley.

Wow I don't think I would ever consider him overrated. He has played on some absolutely horrible teams. You take him off Florida and that was one of the worse teams in the league. Vancouver is better but not playoff material without him. He carried those teams.

We will never really know how guys like Brodeur and Hasek compare because they both play on very good defensive teams to help out. They get scoring too. Loungo gives up 2 goals a game when his defense hangs him out and they lose.

I'm not a Vancouver fan, but Luongo as is as good as anyone in the league. It's hilarious that you blame him for their playoff loss, considering that they would have been out long before if not for Luongo's play.

As for Brodeur, it's easy to look good when you've got a defense like he has had in front of him for years. He sure didn't do much for us at the 2006 Olympics, did he? Luongo, on the other hand, won the 2004 World Cup for us by stopping the Czechs on a ton of great chances in the third and overtime before Lecavalier won it for Canada.

Personally, I think Luongo is underrated. He took a lot of flak in Florida because he could take them to the Stanley Cup AND stand on his head at the same time.

Luongo makes the Canucks better, and should have won the Hart trophy last year in my opinion.

I don't think Luongo is overrated. The guys faced a firing squad just about every game when he played in Florida. It all goes back to Save Percentage. If you look at that instead of Goals Against, you'll see in his career how good he is. He has the ability to win a game himself, when his offense or defense won't support him.

I do think Niklas Backstrom's a better goalie though.

Because there are only 2 million people in Vancouver, and obviously you're not one of them. If you had the chance to see him play on a regular basis you would have no doubts that he's the real thing. Go Canucks!

because he only got 47 wins last season with a 9.21 save percentage.
