I'd get a better copy.
Sometimes you can get a professional to clean up noise, but this is costly and usually done to unearth a great artist's hidden gems. Not common for us commoners.

Yes! It is very possible to change this. You may try various sound editing programs on the market, However, if you are not familiar with these types of programs, it may not be a practical solution. I'm afraid you will have to be more specific. Did you perform and record the piece yourself or did you download a mp3 or what ?
