Is that the believe?
Its supposed to fuel the stories that MC dies at the end of Halo3.

He doesnt die, its just a way to get ppl interested in the game by makin them think they'll be in a big battle like the one shown there.

I know, I feel the same way. There's these Halo toys and then Master Chief holds this ball in his hand and the words "Believe" come on screen. It's probably the dumbest videogame commercial I've seen. I don't know, I guess you have to know the Halo series in order to get the commercial but I'm a Sony gamer, so I don't know anything about Halo.

The believe commercials have absolutely nothing to do with the game. The company that made those didn't even now the story behind halo 3 when they made them. its just a viral marketing campaign, that doesn't tie into the real halo story in any way. its just marketing.
