Fiona, it sound like you are approaching this issue as a victim. Me, I was a victim of abuse as a child. The angel who took me in when I was living in the streets, was later raped and murdered.
Rape is a serious crime, and should be seriously punished. But what you are talking about is inhumane, even though rape is an inhumane crime.
But what if the rape never happen, what if the charges were false? I know what you are thinking, that would never happen.
Take a look at these . . .
According to a study conducted by former Purdue sociologist Eugene J. Kanin and published in Archives of Sexual Behavior, in more than 40 percent of the cases reviewed, the complainants eventually admitted that no rape had occurred. Mr. Kanin also studied rape allegations in two large Midwestern universities and found that 50 percent of the allegations were recanted by the accuser.
The Air Force also conducted a study of 556 rape accusations. More than one-quarter of the accusers admitted, either just before they took a lie detector test or after they had failed it, that no rape occurred. A further investigation by independent reviewers found that 60 percent of the original rape allegations were false, via interviews, court transcripts, and additional sources of the accusers.
Craig Silverman, a former Colorado prosecutor known for his zealous prosecution of rapists during his 16-year career, says that false rape accusations occur with "scary frequency." As a regular commentator on the Kobe Bryant rape trial for Denver's ABC affiliate, Mr. Silverman noted that "any honest veteran sex assault investigator will tell you that rape is one of the most falsely reported crimes." According to Mr. Silverman, a Denver sex-assault unit commander estimates that nearly half of all reported rape claims are false.
Listing cases of false rape allegations could fill volumes. One example: Six young men recently faced a potential life sentence in prison after Tamara Anne Moonier, a young Orange County, Calif., woman, accused them of kidnapping and raping her at gunpoint. The men are free today only because one of them taped the encounter, leading Ms. Moonier to admit she lied. The video showed Ms. Moonier actively directing the participants during the sexual encounter.
The politics of women's organizations promote that women need to see themselves and other women as victims and to rage at the patriarchy - can unintentionally encourage young women to make spurious accusations. For example, during the 2005 campus wide sexual assault awareness week at Rollins College in Winter Park, Fla., then-23-year-old Desiree Nall told police that she was raped by two men in a college bathroom. Fear and panic swept the campus as police initiated a manhunt for the rapists.
Police noticed many inconsistencies in Ms. Nall's story, and one female police investigator stated that there was "no evidence to support the sexual battery complaint filed by Desiree Nall." According to press reports, Ms. Nall, then the president of the Brevard County Chapter of the National Organization for Women, eventually told police that she was "not a victim of a sexual battery, as earlier reported in her sworn statements."
One TV reporter said that many believed that Nall was ”trying to make a statement by calling attention to herself in a fake rape case.” Another reporter wondered, “Did she take her cause too far?” Feminists’ lack of concern over the harm caused by false rape allegations is evident in the fact that even today Nall remains in the leadership of Brevard County NOW.
As for sexual assault on a child, those cases need to be really examined. In a column by Paul Stuckle, Esq.
"Public hysteria regarding child molestation has changed the rules of the criminal justice system. Child physical and sexual abuse cases must be defended in an entirely different manner than the normal criminal case. In theory the constitutional rights of the defendant are still in place, however in reality those rights do not apply. The truth is: The accused is presumed to be guilty...Recognize you are in for the fight of your life."--Paul Stuckle
An interesting article below by attorney Paul Stuckle concerning false allegations of molestation. Stuckle does good work in Texas defending those falsely accused of domestic violence or child sexual assault, or who have been targeted by Child Protective Services.
Here is the complete article . . .
False Allegations of Child Sexual Assault
By Paul Stuckle, Esq.
March 12, 2007
“It doesn’t take much.”
(A Judge’s response when asked what it takes to convict someone of child molestation.)
Nothing incites the fury and anger of any community like the discovery of a reported child molester in the neighborhood. Unfortunately no charge is easier to make against an innocent person and more difficult to disprove. The word of a child, whether mistaken, coached, or the result of a deliberate lie, is all that it takes to ruin lives.
False allegations of child sexual assault can be easily made. False Allegations arise under a multitude of circumstances from children of any age and in every socioeconomic group.
Sometimes allegations are made by children with a goal of removing a family member from the home. Sometimes a false allegation is made by a young child who does not understand the gravity and consequences of their words. Often questionable remarks by children are misinterpreted by frantic family members and evolve into allegations by over zealous social workers. False Allegations are often made by emotionally disturbed adolescents with a specific agenda to hurt someone. Spouses, and former spouses may also use a false allegation in a divorce or custody battle to seek legal leverage.
TYPICAL WRONG REACTIONS OF THE FALSELY ACCUSED-"I’m innocent. This is crazy. If I talk to them and explain it will go away.” This is the initial feeling of the wrongfully accused. They have done nothing wrong and therefore there should be no adverse consequences. Those in authority will quickly recognize their innocence, the mistake, the overreaction, and it will all go away.
THE SPECIAL NATURE OF CHILD SEXUAL ASSAULT-Public hysteria regarding child molestation has changed the rules of the criminal justice system. Child physical and sexual abuse cases must be defended in an entirely different manner than the normal criminal case. In theory the constitutional rights of the defendant are still in place, however in reality those rights do not apply. The truth is: The accused is presumed to be guilty.
TIPS FOR FIGHTING FALSE ALLEGATIONS- Recognize you are in for the fight of your life
SELECTING THE RIGHT ATTORNEY-Very few attorneys specialize in fighting false allegations. Many lawyers represent clients with child abuse and child sexual assault charges. These lawyers will handle such cases in addition to a general criminal defense practice.

You didn't really ask a question here, but i'll give my 2 cents worth.I agree with the castration, whether it be chemical,or physical, but only in cases that are 100% gilty, such as caught in the act with a child. The reason for this is because, not all rape cases are verifiable.Meaning that some rape accusations can be from an angry spouse going through a divorse,or a girl or woman falsely accusing souly because they are angry for being dumped by a boyfriend, etc.You see when a person is accused of rape, in this country, they are more often guilty until proven innocent, not the other way around, like it should be.If you castrate someone then as far as I know that is irreversable. So you see it is a very tough to have to make that decision. Now don't get me wrong here,I don't condone that type of behavior at all and find any man who does this a coward and lower than dirt.If they are guilty 100% no doubt about it,then I would be the first one in line to hang them by their balls.

First, where would you deport the British sex offenders to? What country would accept them? Are you talking about a prison island somewhere like Alcatraz or Papillon? I don't think that would be such a bad idea. We can send the U.S. sex offenders there also.
Castration doesn't necessarily work as the truly sick don't need a penis to do sexual physical damage to another person. A frontal lobotomy would probably be a better idea. Let them live out the rest of their lives as slobbering idiots in a cell.

All the evidence is that rape is more a crime of violence than sex. Sex offenders who are castrated tend to become more violent towards women. Are you really asking for that?!
As most ARE British, why should we expect another nation to take them? Would you want us to accept, for example, all French rapists into Britain?

I have always thought they should bring back the cat of nine tails, so they would be marked for life. They could never take their t shirt off etc as everyone would know what they had done.
Castration works well too.
You could even let the parents have 'x' number of minutes with the offender.....
Unfortunately it appears the law has a different set of rules in relation to the offence and 'Two wrongs don't make a right' Is what alot of the law courts will say.
Extradition is a problem. Where could you send them. You wouldn't want a know rapist in your country would you...?
I would like to see hanging brought back. But again what level of conviction do we have and what would stop a Defence lawyer giving 'reasonable doubt' to the jury....
Hope this helps

i don't think castration as a form of punishment is quite right, as most rapes are products of people with issues with power, or their own inadequacies.
and deportation? come on...where you going to send all the sex offenders of the world...is there anywhere big enough to accommodate them all?
certainly, something needs to be done as there are many sex offenders who do re-offend, and continually re-offend...maybe a chip in their tiny screwed up little minds that causes severe pain at the first sign of arousal??

Instead of castration, I would rather put two horny big male gorillas with a male rapist in a cage to do to him what he likes doing to others. Maybe when they are through ******* his behind he will never again put anything forcefully into another female or child.

Castration doesn't prevent sexual assault. The rapist would use his hands or some foreign object to continue to assault his victims. If anything is to be removed, remove his arms. Personally I think a man who rapes should be put to death. Not just to prevent him from doing it again but as a severe punishment. I see rape as murder, theft, and adultery all rolled into one.

castration no
deportation no
only the death penalty can suffice
this is what the perportrator inflicts on their victims, only it is the victim that is consigned to their own personal living hell. no man has the right to inflict unwanted sex on another person

Do you think you could do it? Castrate them with your own hands? I guess you could handle it if someone else was doing the dirty work.
