Some people, myself included often put questions on for a laugh. And it is laughable the people who can't see the funny side. No wonder heart disease is a major problem when some folk can't even crack a smile never mind a giggle.

u know one of the things that got me hooked on Yahoo!Answers is the laughter i get from it. some days i come into work feeling like ****, and by the time i read 3 questions and give my answer i'm laughing, so the heck with the all too serious - make me laugh Yahoo!

I only get serious with serious questions otherwise i like a good laugh and answer in a silly way, but there are some who never see the funny side of things

Well there are too many serious people in the world -
imagine world leaders had a great sense of humour and a simple mick taking session live on SNL would keep relations just dandy.
Imagine returning your faulty item to a shop and having a good old chuckle with the assistant about shoddy workmanship.
We need more fun! :o)

It does vary. I take your point .There are times when we have a good balance and I'm all for a bit of fun. I think some people just don't recognise a "tongue-in-cheek" question.On the other hand you get spells when they are just too silly for words. I know a lot of people answer regardless just for the 2 points, but I can't be bothered to answer a stupid question !

Y!A isn't for joking around. It is to be taken very seriously. Nothing gets my goat more than people joking around on the internet. I have some serious questions and I demand serious answers. I demand satisfaction. Enough of this tomfoolery and jocular humor.
