In the past, such as during the reign of King Henry the eigth of England just about any act that caused the displeasure of the king was declared an act of treason and the penalty was almost invariably death.
The definition of treason is essentially an act against the soverignty of the country.
The law has changed in its definition of this by including any acts or plans to act against the laws of the country of a serious nature.
An example would be to plan or attack a member of the royal family..
To engauge in terrorist activity against a country.
Do not get your self involved in these activities.
For the legal definition of treason look on the internet by typing in Treason. The answers are not clearly defined as law is not a very precise practice and what is passed as illegal in some circumstances is passed over in others.
Not very helpful I'm affraid. But that is the way it goes. Try changing it.

Well, I will start with a quote;
Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.
Unstated but assumed is the transgressor would be a citizen of the USA.
Some specific examples; assisting an enemy of the USA in gaining entry to the USA, feeding, clothing, supporting or assiting in anyway. Providing information to an enemy.
Hope that helps.

Swearing to defend the constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic.....and then becoming the number one enemy to the constitution by forcing through laws and executive orders that take away the basic human rights defended in that wonderful document.......kind of like our presidential administration is currently doing.
As far as I'm concerned, when citizens become apathetic to these acts, they are just as guilty of treason!
Benjamin Franklin once said "Those that would trade even a little freedom for a little security will loose BOTH and deserve NEITHER."

Well, the best example would be in a war zone. If you would give aid to the enemy, that would help him kill your own soldiers, that is treason. Peace!
Byakuya, I know exactly who you are talking about, my friend. I have seen many pictures of Hanoi Jane.
