Wow, most of you are jerks. Glad you have to insult people on the internet.

I don't know how you all are pronouncing the boy name but its not Covey (rhyming with Lovey Dovey) Its rhymes more with Cody. I don't see the hick in it I guess.

I really like the name Covey. It's pretty unique!

I absolutely love the girl name. You can call her Andy for short if you want. To whoever said that it wouldn't be a great name for an "important" job title, that is completely ridiculous. Now, Candy may be a silly name, but i don't see anything wrong with Andelyn. You do whatever you want!

Good luck to you!

Since you asked ...

Covey is okay. Is there a family connection? I think of Stephen R. Covey, the Seven Habits guru who was such a big deal a few years back. I would, however, avoid Covie. The "ie" ending is more feminine, and with an unusual given name, I think it would be easily mistaken for a girl's name. Using James as a middle name tones it down nicely - if he loathes his unusual moniker, hey, he can be C. James as an adult.

Andelyn, IMHO, is not a great choice. I do like it better than most invented names. (It's from a male Warcraft character, right?) In general, this type of name doesn't carry well into adulthood. Andelyn the 16 y.o. Starbucks barista? Sure. Andelyn the investment banker? Probably not.

There's nothing wrong with unusual - if we were all named Emily, that would just be absurd. But what about something with a history? Rhiannon, Morrigan, Endellion, Addison, even Mandolin.

I'm not too fond of Covey but I love Andelyn Rae... How about Coby for a boy?? Just a thought.

I think if you named the boy Covington James, then called him Covey as a nickname that would be extremely cute!!! Im not sold on Andelyn. It doesn't roll off the tounge so easily. But I do like Rae for a middle name.

The boy's name is okay, and I like Andelyn, but you need to change Rae. One thing to look at when picking names....how can it be made fun of. Kids are cruel to each other. I have a friend that I bounce ideas off of just to see if he can make fun of it.

Personally I have a problem with made-up names in general. I think they're really made for the parents pleasure, not for the child and that they produce a lot of hardship for that child as they grow up.

Did you know that a 'covey' refers to a brood or small flock of birds?

I don't like Covey at all. It sounds made up. Sorry :(

Andelyn is cute though :)

Not Covey for a boy...rhymes with Lovey Dovey. he would get teased. The girl name is okay. Luckily, you are not pregnant so you have time to think about it.
