I have lost the right to have a private phone conversation.
I have lost the right to have my mail sent to me without the government being involved in scanning it for anything Un-American.
(I'd like to know who determines that).
I have lost the right to have privacy while using the Internet.
Should someone from the government decide that something from those things listed previously signals some sort of red flag, even in error, I can be arrested without charge, without a right to counsel, without access to anyone who could try to clear my name.
I could be held for years under quesitonable conditions.
And pretty soon unless someone puts a stop to the advancement of government regulation I will have to be implanted with a rice-sized RFID chip or be denied credit, medical care, transport from the U.S. among other things.

I get my lines tapped sometimes, but it's not a big deal. Everyone over here knows that overseas calls (which I make all the time) are tapped, either by the German government or the US Army, we're not sure which.
And I don't know if people realize this, but not everyone's lines are tapped, and not everyone's mail is opened, and not everyone's email is under surveillance. However, the government has had the tools for quite some time to be able to pick out key words in any phone conversation. This is nothing new!
AND surveillance has been used during EVERY war. Seems to me that SOME people seem to think the world started six and a half years ago when Bush was sworn in. Criminy, people, study HISTORY!
At least we're not being rationed on anything, there is no draft, and it's pretty friggin obvious that the news isn't being censored any more than it always has been (for matters of national security).

None that I know of yet. However they could easily be monitoring all my activities for no reason other than my name being similiar to someone else's. They could be monitoring me because I made a joke on the phone and it flagged something. They could be monitoring me due to the book I read when flying across the country last year. Id never know until it was too late. These are all violations of the 4th Amendment. I consider it just as important as the other 6 if the Bill of Rights, even if the gov't doesnt any longer
The issue is how easy it is to take them away, far easier than it should be. Most of the problem laws/orders also include clauses that make them safe from being challenged.
Despite this, there is the issue that many people have had their freedoms taken. Just because it hasnt affected you personally doesnt mean you shouldnt care. That is how every dictator who stipped away freedoms did so, but slowly working his way up and relying on people ignoring it happening to others.

Any time an innocent person is imprisoned and tortured, I have lost the freedom of NOT being terrorized by my own government.

When ONE American citizen loses their freedom we ALL move closer to tyranny
BTW - This same argument could have been made by pro Hitler Gentiles in Nazi Germany as they watched the trains go by
Or by whites in favor of slavery before the civil war

That is exactly what the Germans thought about Hitler, while he was roasting Jews.
What? Wasn't PC enough for you?
The right to be secure in property and effects, you think would extend to mail, that keeps arriving already opened.
Can you name one area other than environmental protection where Bush has reduced government intrusion?

Oh I'm sure I've had my phone lines tapped a time or two... but when your dad is in politics and your brother-in-law is a Pakistani Muslim .... what do you expect.

Because of George Bush... Well, there's -- nope, never mind. Oh, and -- no, that's out too. Hm. I can't think of any! Strange, isn't it? However, I'm fairly certain a liberal Democrat would infringe upon my right to property by taxing me out of my mind, and my liberty by restricting what I can say, do, and think -- but it isn't restricting rights if they do it, because it's in the common good. (That's how the Soviet Union was started, too.)
