Considering the elections are still a long way off ...What would happen if big businesses started backing her national health care plan? Business lobbyists are some of the most powerful lobbyists in Washington and Republicans are usually known to support big businesses. As a business owner or company, why wouldn't this be appealing? It means more money in their pocket, more profits for the company could mean better pensions plans for retired employee's ( just one example).
We all know that health care costs are enormous (look at what's happening to GM right now). Why wouldn't businesses/companies back her plan? Wouldn't it be in their own best interest to do so...passing the buck (literally) to the federal govt is a win/win situation for them. By doing so they would save HUGE amounts of money and even if they have to pay some sort of higher tax , that still would be significantly lower than paying for the individual health care costs of their employee's (and retired employee's).

Suthern- I agree, they aren't that stupid. But do you really think they care about tax-payers?

Many Fortune 500 firms have been leaning this way. If you look at companies like GM and Comapre them to Toyota or BMW you will see costs of production are the same but they are not being forced to pay for things like health care and retirement because the government picks up the tab for them. Much of our European and Japanese competators are beating us because they have lower fringe costs than our US Firms.
Also the extra taxes that will be paid for these programs are a drop in the bucket for many corporatations compared to the costs of having to provide these services for them.

I've always worked for small businesses and have always had great coverage. Sure I had to contribute about 25-30 percent of the premium and had co-pays and deductibles, but that is, and should be, my responsibility. Its nice when a company offers that benefit, but they shouldn't be mandated to do so and your "neighbor" shouldn't have to pay for your health care either. Also, by the way, the republicans wanted to allow small businesses to pool together to have access to the better rates that BIG companies have, but the democrats want to mandate businesses to provide the high price health insurance plans you can't afford now or pay a fine. The Exchange programs are only for individuals whose employers don't provide health insurance and they will have to pay 100 percent of the premium unless they qualify for medicaid or a small subsidy that will pay for maybe 10 percent of their $10,000+ premium. So...have you even read the new health care reform bill? Obviously not if you think it's going to help small businesses or individuals in any way.

It's likely that big business will back her health care plan. She very carefully crafted it so that all business interests, from large to small would benefit from it as well as our citizens. Witness what just happened in Michigan with the car industry. In order to stop the strike and make a deal with the unions, what ended up suffering? The retiree's health care benefits. Meeting health care costs is a large factor in many of our businesses heading overseas. The costs are breaking their backs. So give them a solution they can get behind and it brings a lot of those jobs back home and prevents others from being farmed out off our shores. It makes sense for both businesses and our citizens.

I am 100% in favor of Universal Health Care. Many employers cannot afford to offer co-pay health care. Many people are working at low pay jobs without Health Care, and it would make sense if these big businesses would back Hilary so this Universal Health care program will go through.

I totally agree with you. As a small business owner, my biggest problem it to provide health benefits to my employees. This is their main concern for employment. I have many employees who only vote Republican and told me they would support Hillary if they are indeed allowed to choice their own insurance. Go Hillary!!!

I'm not surprised. Hillary's plan is exactly the same as most Republicans'. They're just a bunch of crap designed to get insurance companies' even more money.

I agree with you, and small business owners should back Hillary, too. It's very difficult for them to provide the benefits that are mandated.

GO HILLARY!
Save this country!
