Since we all literally "live by faith" - experience what we have been programmed to believe is true about self and the world - faith is by far the most significant factor in human life. Logic/reason/knowledge is not possible until we have transcended that learned belief system that controls our perception.

Faith is an expectation in what you do not know. Logic has no expectation except that of discovering a reasoned answer. I'd say that is bigger, wider, taller, than the blindness of relying on the unknown or unknowable. But faith often has it's own logic: faith in one's child comes from knowing your child, which requires logic.

I would say faith is more powerful, bigger and taller for people who have a strong belief in a God. Even though the same people can think logically their religious faith means more to them and they will trust faith before logic.
As a non-believer logic is more powerful to me. I can change my life using logic and my circumstances. I can use logical means to find a solution. With faith you are absolved of responsibility and take what seems to me a passive stance. Why would I sit and wait for an answer if I can use logic to achieve my goal.

I have really had to give this some thought, there are very appealing arguments for both. I think that we really need some measure of both as long as we are here. Logic is part of our human equipment, yet often it is flawed. Logic built on a lie or illusion is still a lie or illusion. In the end logic or intellect can actually become a stumbling block for some, blinding them to possibilities beyond the illusions of this world. On the other hand blind faith without knowledge or understanding is, well blind. Someone said that faith stops war, yet many a terrible war & brother killing brother has been done in the name of misguided faith. Think Crusades, Jihads, salem witch trials, etc. Much hate & superstition has been brought to bear on mankind by mankind in the name of religion fueled by blind faith. Until we can all reach that place that surpasses preception, each should be tempered with the other. Knowledge is different than both logic & faith, & surpasses both. Until we come to know & be, we must use both wisely. Thanks for a great Q. Soul Shine.

It is regretful that faith & logic are so inextricably disparate in most human minds as to evoke competitive debate as to which is more or less than the other.
Would anyone dispute that logic is in science? (Not an absolute, but searching for answers & reason.)
With that premise, rather commonly accepted, what is the rationale for not fusing science with faith?
One can say--unbiased science could not possibly be performed by a man who possessed faith in God. Nor does faith have any need for physical confirmation of its beliefs.
Are both of these statements true? Or, do they perpetuate destructive conflict?
Science can CONFIRM genesis without denying the religious concept. Why, then, do we not come into harmony?
I cannot comprehend defining faith or logic as having more potential, of being bigger, wider or taller. I'd prefer to reflect how this divisiveness has motivated the bloodshed of centuries.

Thats like asking which is more powerful, head or tails?
Faith without logic is mindless and blind.
Logic without faith can only offer the most basic and rudimentary of truths.
We take the existance of the external world on faith, but analyse and interact with it through logic. Humans are predominantly rational creatures, no matter how odd their behaviour, and everything around us is compared, contrasted, analysed and assimilated rationally into our worldview. Most of what we would call "faith" is simply a preferred logical extrapolation of what we believe the truth to be. A good example is the argument for god through design. Through looking at the world logically people arrive at a statement which cannot be proven, is entirely faith, but has its basis in reasoning.
There are very few people who are entirely unable to justify their faith. The fact that people are doing so on this page is evidence enough that the two are inextricably tangled.
So, in brief, because I have harped on for far too long:
They have exactly the same amount of potential, ie: Infinite
They are exactly as powerful as each other, both individually and together.
To achieve anything of magnitude both must be used.
Go team :)

Logic is an advantage for you to really have a good sight of discoveries and knowledge on a particular idea... so it is more potential than faith because it will use it as many times as you need to apply it on your personal life.. its a gift that you need to improve and characterized especially when you have situation or scenario that is really hard to resolve.... But you have to prioritize your Faith in order to lead you where you at... you must have determination to do so to let it all happend... if you have Logic and you will not help yourself to grow as a person.. then its useless! so do have faith in your mind and perform some action as well to attain what you want to achieve in life.

I think faith has both more potential, power, and everything in between. There are so many things in the world and universe that have yet to be understood but there is a God out there who knows all and can share his wisdom with those who seek him. Without faith what is our purpose in this life?

Faith has more potential these days only for the fact that people would rather accept and hope that everything will work out. But logic is the greater of the two to me. You have to have faith in yourself to question... you can not annalyze without faith in your choices or theories... in order to prove your point.

This sounds to me to be two separate experiences that aren't to be compared.
You phrased one as Logic and phrased as " bigger, wider, taller " . . . Those words are based of earthly, human experiences which has matter and aspects that can be measured.
The other words you mentioned being " Faith " and " Powerful " are more in the spiritual being realm. In that realm time, sense of measure or size . . . aspects as those don't exist.
So, to me, the question of " Which has more potential, Faith or logic " . . . The two can't really be compared to each other . . . thus no answer can clearly be applied here.
Having said that . . . as precious as our human experiences are and the experiences of this Earth ...they don't hold a candle to aspects of Faith which leans towards experiences of the Spiritual World.

faith is far more powerful than logic. Logic has more boundries than faith. Also logic is two fold either it is logically possible or it is not. If you have faith you `know ` things will work out in the end no matter what. If I could sit on the fence and say,you need to have faith in the logic at times.............
