Why do people their homework questions on here? We can tell whether you're stuck on homework, or curious (all good reasons to post) or trying to sucker us into doing your homework for you. PLEAAAASE just read your text or search online before you resort to asking on here. I'd love to help if you're stuck and can't find the answer, but it's pretty clear some of you aren't trying at all. Anyone else annoyed?

I understand if they're confused and need help, but some of these can be easily found if they would just open their books or do a search. Those are the people who are incredibly annoying. They cut/paste they're homework in and I even saw one asking you to "write in paragraph form".

While there is a homework help section, people tend to post their HW in subject specific categories. Yes, they should do their own work, yes they should try their own devices, but there is no rule against it. American education has become so shoddy that they no longer can think for themselves. This is a perfect resort for them.

Yes, kids wanting their homework done for them, which is pretty sad when they can google The worst part is they just want the answers. A B C.. etc. not the reason why, unless it is required to show work due to home work. Not how you got there just the answer. The people that are getting very annoyed should just not answer the questions. I usually look at the history of other questions, many i found pretty much had their complete home work project posted to get answers.

i agree. although this is a type of reference, it's not the same of doing google searches or wikipedia searches. if you google something you have to read through different sites and can learn a great deal on it's own. i generally don't answer a question if it's just a cut/paste of their homework and if i do i don't give the whole answer.

i was amazed the other day, someone pasted a question at the end of which said write two paragraphs essay-style and someone actually did it.

I completely agree-and it happens in other subjects as well. I'm even okay with checking people's answers, but when there's a list of problems...complete with the numbers, it makes it a bit obvious, and I think if you asked teachers, it would be considered cheating.

Yeah I tutor biology and I don't really mind helping on here when I'm bored. Sure these kids aren't learning anything in the process, but that's less competition for REAL jobs for me and my kids, which increases the pay! I don't care if everyone else is stupid.
