Well, the seeing eye dog has to have something to do in the car besides hang his head out the window, so he helps the blind guy drive to the ATM.

OMG! I was thinking that yesterday when I was at the ATM....maybe the blind sit in the back & the driver pulls up so that the back window is by the atm...but I've never seen anything like that happen...they also have a little head-phone plug in next to the brialle...I just don't get it.

Sweetie, you can't give out 5 points - it's either 10 points for best answer or nothing!

They put braille on drive up ATM's for the same reason why the 7-11 has locks on the door. Just because! You're not supposed to think about it too hard, or you'll get a headache!

It was created for the sole purpose of those customers who have a Right Hand Drive car imported from either Europe or Japan and have a blind passenger. I was on the board of directors when they decided to make these ATM's and I specifically asked for these to be put on there as I drive a RHD car and have a blind friend whom I always drive to the bank with to deposit/withdraw money. Since I sleep with the lady who makes the decisions, I was allowed to have what I wanted. BOOYAH!!!

for any blind people who walk up to get their money at a drive up ATM. Not like they would know its a drive up ATM.

Or maybe I'm overthinking this. Maybe they put it there just because the dots look cool =)

Because sometimes blind people sneak out of their houses and meet up and all go to different ATMS and take out loads of money and go have fun, they dont want anyone to know they can really drive. They are the ones in the middle of the night who cut you off and almost rear end you!!

I'll admit it's a clever, if not misspelled ("Braille") joke, but you should have put the "details" as your main question, and not tell people that you'll give them "5 points", which is totally erroneous to begin with, not to mention a violation of the Terms of Service and Community Standards because of that, AND because it is not a "poll" or "survey", but a "joke" or, at best, a "financial (institution)" question.

BTW, this is the same as the signs in front of grocery, banks, and similar shops that read, "Seeing eye dogs only".

Maybe the blind person is a passenger in a car and they get out to use the ATM?

That is a great question. It makes you think! LOL WOW I'm not sure. I guess the blind person could be in the back seat and need the ATM. HEEHEE Think I would just write a check.
