I have all sorts of dust in between the keys on my keyboard and the keys themselves also feel dirty from continued use over two years. I guess my fingers are really oily. How do I clean the keyboard and what should I do about the dust that has collected on the back of my cpu tower?

two things: a can of compressed air will clean the dust from your keyboard, and there are large q-tip like squabs you can buy in computer sections of stores.

As for dust on the back of your computer, do that manaullt with foam squabs and paper towels lightly dampened with Windex or water. DO NOT USE COMPRESSED AIR on the back of your computer. It can get inside on the motherboard and freeze a componet and fry your computer.

Use a compressed gas like 3M Dust Remover to blow the dust out of crevices. A small battery-powered vacuum cleaner can be used as followup.

You can use white vinegar to get the oil off the keys without flooding the keyboard..

Go to Walmart and purchase A can of Dust Remover Spray. It only cost about 4 bucks and it works great. It will clean not only your keyboard but any parts on your Computer safely.

Compressed Air, or a small vac.
Or just turn it upside down and hit it a few times.
Or take all the keys off and really clean it, but, you may damage the keys or make them lose so they will pop off all the time.

Use a clean toothbrush which you should keep especially for this job on your keyboard, and an anti-static cloth which you can get in any dollar store for dusting your equipment. Don't use cleaning fluids on your computer equipment, and get a plastic cover for putting over it when it isn't in use.
