Yes, I sell on eBay, but even having diligently researched as much as I thought possible, I've had quite a few attempts at fraud. After about three years, I can spot the potential pretty quickly.
My advice would be to research the area(s) that you plan to sell in, read lots of ads there, and gauge your pricing accordingly. Also Paypal (although it takes a percentage of your profit :(, does act as a bit of a safety net for buyers who want to use credit cards as payment. Do not use escrow as there are fraudulent escrow companies popping up every day. Start selling less expensive items until you get a feel for the whole process.
I have met great people through eBay and have had many sucessful transactions! Good luck!!! It's a great concept, and as long as you're careful, you should do well!

There are frauds on ebay, both sellers and buyers, but most can be easily detected by their relatively high negative ratings. Never ship an item until you have received payment for it AND it has cleared your bank (if paid by check or money order). If you are not financially stable, then you may not be prepared for the time, expense, and effort of storing items in your home, and then shipping them to people. Ebay is not a good way of earning money, unless you are prepared for such expenses, not to mention the time and effort, which you will not be able to do with a newborn on the way. BTW, your fiance may not appreciate your home becoming a storage facility for ebay, and your bank account taking "hits" for fraudulent checks, which, BTW, can, potentially, lower your credit rating; discuss this with him, first.
P.S. What's with the "title case" (i.e., upper case first letter in every word)? It's very difficult to read, and will probably get you fewer responses. Ordinary sentence case works just fine, if not better.

If you have items to sell, go for it. I have been selling for years. Nearly all my experinces have been great. A few were bad. It also depends on what you sell. For example, selling old books brings out professors and teachers, collectibles bring out hard core collectors, fabric will relate to the mom at home. Electronics will bring lots of fraud, mostly out of country.
Fraud reigns in many forms, through what "appears to be eBay" or "Paypal", and isn't. Be careful of ever giving out info, unless you know what you are doing.
Do your homework before attempting a new venture to understand and help eliminate potential problems. Look over the catagories on ebay to give you an idea of what is selling and what is not.

I don't work on Ebay, but have bought and sold lots of things. There is alot of fraud, so you have to be careful. Get to know Ebay and Paypal's fraud policies, and you'll be fine. If you sell electronics, be very careful about fraudulent buyers. Be wary of people emailing you to complete a transaction outside of Ebay, as they may be using a stolen PayPal account.
