Montreal. I was a kid when they won their four straight Cups, 1976-79, and they showed me what the game is all about. Later, when my home-state New Jersey Devils won their first Cup, they had several Montreal connections, including coaches Jacques Lemaire and Larry Robinson, ex-Canadiens Claude Lemieux, Stephane Richer and Tom Chorske, and Martin Brodeur, son of Canadiens team photographer and 1956 Olympic goalie Denis Brodeur.

Montreal - even their fans were badass - in the old forum, the season ticket holders behind the home bench did not have the sheets of glass between them and the players. Plus you cant go wrong with as many championships as they have.

Why do they call them the 'Original Six'?

Four of them weren't around in 1917............and the NHL had 6 teams during years 26 through 50.
