They haven't repealed the Bush tax cuts for the rich.

They did try to go after Rush Limbaugh, but they failed. They tried going after General Petraeus, who they voted for, before he even said a word.

Have the democrats done anything they were elected to do?

Bush's tax cuts will be repealed
Bush's war in Iraq will end
Bush will go down in history as a liar that got 100,00 + people killed

January 2008 it will be your turn to hate the President, although, you won;t have a reason like the millions that hate Bush do
other than you are a republican and hate is what you folks do best

Because they said they were going to do all those things. That's the problem with election promises: you can never trust them unless you know the politician has the power to fulfill those promises. Granted, no one really had much way of knowing just how much of a majority the Democrats would get, but they should at least have been able to tell that the way they're going about it is so utterly psychotic that no one would support what they're doing.

Because we thought they would.

You have asked questions like this before. Why does it make you happy that President Bush and many under his command have broken the law and infringed on the constitution?

All this proves to me since Congress hasn't done what it said it would do is that they are hoping to benefit from the things Bush has done.

I'm sure many in your party will be just as angry when the Democrats are conducting themselves as deplorably as the Republicans are now!

There are plent of Dems who are disgusted at the lack of progress congress is making.
I'm a liberal and I'm disappointed. They have more power than they are displaying.

I didn't vote for them, and as you so aptly pointed out, they have not done the very things they swore to do if elected. More empty campaign promises...I hope people remember and vote accordingly next time.

what did the Republican Congress do before 2006? Congress has sucked for a very long time. Both major parties.

They've revised their promises and added the caveat that they need 100% control of both Houses and the Presidency before they can do anything.

To the extent their constituents elect them to obfuscate, demagogue issues, and lie, yes, they are fulfilling their "mandate."
