Food for Thought: What makes a legend? What will Tony Romo need to do to raise his legend status? Are critics declaring Romo's legend status too early? Will Romo be in the same category as Dan Marino and Jim Kelly, hence not winning "The Big Game"?

Hmm...he was a 3 year benched QB, is in his first starting NFL season, and people are still remembering him for his botched snap. Lets look at some of the legends:

Montana: 4 rings and the most clutch player
Favre: 3 MVPs, one ring, owns most passing records and the most winningest QB even without great supporting casts
Marino: Rewrote the record books and the best pure passer ever
Elway: 5 SuperBowls and " Mr Comeback"

Hmm..all these slack jawed fans and reporters who are comparing Romo to the greats need a real reality check and he needs to play AT LEAST 10 seasons before we can even judge his career to any of these all time greats.

HAHA, The D has best answer, hands down! haha

But seriously, watch Romo this sunday against a living legend QB, 1 shy of montanas 4 rings at the age of 29 or 30.. Tom Brady is a legend, Romo is a decent QB who may go on to become like a rothlisberger, but will definitely not become the next Favre or Brady.

Romo may be a good quarterback for a few years, but unless he starts winning a lot of super bowls, he'll never be a legend. Sure, Marino and Kelly never won the big one, but you cannot put Romo in the same class as those two. Marino still holds many passing records, and Kelly made 4 super bowls in a row. Is it all his fault they lost all of them? Romo is good, but not great.

Tony Romo has not started one full NFL season yet. So before you start talking about legendary status he needs to prove that he will be a durable long time playing and winning QB for the Dallas Cowboys. Yes while I'll admit he's a up and comer in the NFL ranks he has to play for a lot more years to even be mentioned as a legend. So Cowboy fans sit back calm down and let's wait and see,in the mean time let's not talk about legendary status for this young QB just yet.

This Sunday you can compare Romo to a legend and make your own decision, watch him play living legend Tom Brady and the very stellar Patriots and see how he compares.

All QB's have games in which they perform terribly. Romo had his, yet they still emerged with a win. He is projected to throw 26 interceptions this year, Peyton Manning had 28 his first year. If Peyton can turn his luck around, so can Romo. Romo has the potential to be a legend, he just has to make it work.

Heck yes. At the rate he's going, he shoulld take the interception record from Favre (who will have in in about 2 more weeks) in record time. I give him 3-5 years before he is the all time interception king! (though he will be hotly contested by Rex Grossman)

Uh...He has to at least get to the Super Bowl, like Marino and Kelly, to be in the same category

He'll be a big screen legend when he stars the lead role in Brokeback Moutain 2.

You sound like a romosexual.

Tony Romo is a quarterback who's going no where, and will soon be forgotten. Thank you for not mentioning him in the same sentence as Joe Montana or Tom Brady.
