Well you need first to visit your hospital financial assistance section. Hospital are required to provide certain amount of ''free'' services based on the Hill-Burton bill, of course you need and they [the hospital] will review your financials to see if you qualify...for you bill to be placed in this ''special funding'' that they have...its not an open/close situation...

Hope you do qualify, good luck..

Every hospital has a department that will work with patients to get bills paid if there is no insurance coverage. As long as you sit down and talk to them and work out a payment plan and follow the payment plan it should not affect your credit. A hospital cannot turn someone away for an inability to pay.

You have to apply for the charity BEFORE you have the services. They do a review of your income and assets to determine if you qualify for whatever program they have. And not every hospital has programs, especially private hospitals.

If you are below poverty level they will probably help you out but otherwise you are responsible for your whole bill if your insurance won't cover it.
