What is 'Knotting'??? never heard of it.
As far as question number one....lock them in a steel building or a room that is secure and fire proof.

Turpentine is the name of the solvent. Leave the brush inside for a while and scrub it down so the paint will come off.
1) Tighten the lids of the paint Very securely,
2)Prevent the paint from falling over.
