It's cool you'd like to be this generation's version of Joe Jackson. However, you'll have to appeal to one strong suit and gradually blend in your other influences if you wat to get into the game.
Doing one trance album and following it up with a country one won't endear you to either genre.
Oh, and by the way hello from the Oak Tree in Lakewood, WA (back side of town, near Steilacoom). My friend's band Judgment plays there and is hoping for a shot. I'm a lyrics writer.
